What is Hypnosis?
Most people are curious about clinical hypnosis. Many think it is a strange state completely alien to anything you have ever experienced.
But did you know most of us experience clinical hypnosis at least once a day. 90% can easily enter a light hypnotic state and between 70-90% can experience a medium depth of hypnosis or hypnotic trance.

What hypnosis is not
• James Braid who coined the term “hypnosis’ thought that he was work with a special state of sleep. He soon realized his mistake and tried to change the name. But the name “hypnosis” was so popular that it stuck.
• You may sometimes here a hypnotherapist talk about sleep and waking up, but rest assured the state is one of absorption. People experiencing clinical hypnosis will hear everything that happens around them. They may however choose to only focus on what is relevant to them.
I will have amnesia
• Hypnosis does not make you forget. You will remember what is important for you to remember. It is a little bit like waking up from a very nice daydream.
I will loose control
• Being hypnotised is an altered state of consciousness. You remain in control, can reject ideas you don’t like and can walk out of a session at any time. Most people feel very comfortable and remain in the relaxed state throughout.
I have a weak mind
• Most people use a small part of the mental faculties. Hypnosis connects you to your emotions and feelings and memories. In this way you are even more in control because hypnosis naturally connects you with a much wider snese of your true self
